Some parents are getting together for a social drink at Edinburgh Street Bar on Wednesday 6th June from 7pm. All welcome to join us. Hope to see you there, Sally Grey.
Yes, babysitters will be at a premium! Looking forward to being able to catch up properly and to meeting some of the parents I haven't yet bumped into at the school gate (always tricky when running late!). Jenny
Would love to be able to get a list of stationery requirements for classes for the year. Rather than buying a whole stationery kit this year, I was hoping to be able to recycle some of Sam's left over stationary items.
Merilees, I know it's still the middle of the holidays but just wondering if the lists are available online?

P.S Really like access to school website, it's great to be able to check up info from home or work now that I'm not physically at school so much. 8>
I really like Spellodrome. Jessica has been doing at least half an hour each night and she really enjoys it. I also like how you get a report each week listing the words spelt both correctly and incorrectly so you can see how your child is doing with their spelling and help them with those words that they are getting incorrect. I would definitely be interested in using this next year as a homework tool.
Hello. Michelle here. I appreciate that the school numbers are increasing and parking is at a premium, but it would be appreciated that when the parents from PEPS and Play Centre park on the sealed driveway across from the school, they PLEASE avoid parking in front of the letterboxes. Our Rural Delivery Postman will not deliver if the boxes are obstructed and very recently we have had several deliveries of very important papers not delivered due to this oversight. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I sincerely apologise Michelle, especially when you have so kindly let us use your road for our cross country and practices.
I hope our community will read this and action.
I will also mention in our newsletter to emphasise the matter.
Thank you for being so patient and all I can say is sorry.
Yes, we do have a major issue with parking and we need to discuss ways to alleviate stress on our neighbours.
Wow, Merillees our new Website is totally amazing. I really hope that our school, community and BOT appreciate the amount of work that has gone into this website to make it happen. With all the extra hours that you put into this school and weekends as well, I do hope people realise how lucky we are to have a Principal like you. Your one in a MILLION for what you do for the children and our school. Thank you once again for all of the extras you do behind the scene.
Kind Regards

Great work; it's a very useful website! Not sure if it's just me but I can't seem to access the drop-down choices under the Our People/Our Classes/Information headings. The photos in the banner seem to override them. Can this be changed?
There must be an issue with your screen settings on that particular computer. The web designers can't see any problems and I haven't had any comments from others.
Just seen the PEPS website and saw Logan doing tug-of-war. Logan and Cory have settled into school here and are enjoying their new country.
Great website and it's great to see what is going on at our old school
Karen, Paul, Logan and Cory Price
Because we have no playground at the moment and I know everyone is busy with various projects and doing a wonderful job so I'd like to leave you to stay focused with that.
But I have had an idea.
It's a Chalk Tuesday (or Friday Or Thursday???)
Paul and I will supply a large stick of chalk to each student and they could draw till their hearts content in their lunch hour.
It would be one lunch hour a week so then court games aren't interrupted and arguments caused.
Then the chalk goes away till next week!
If the weather is bad there couldn't be a chalk day.
The children can play noughts and crosses, hopscotch, draw beautiful pictures as teams, or individually.
I could even come down on occasion and give an art lesson to those that would like to join in. We could start practising for a mural for the school building.
If it turned out to be a success, maybe the children could bring 20c for the following week for their piece of chalk. If it doesn't rain for a whole week they could continue with the same piece of artwork or the powers that be will give them a new canvas!
I don't want to bother the PTA or teachers or parents with money or their time. Just wanted a bit of feedback to see what day would suit, possible pitfalls that I may have overlooked
Awesome website -
I have actually had time to sit down and read it!! I think its a fantastic tool for everyone to use!!
I have a question - we are having a very tough time deciding which thing to do regarding pet day - project or chicken - chicken or project - my question is... are children able to do both??
Well done on the new website.
Could you add a little more info to the Calendar? Where, times etc. Perhaps in the form of a Calendar appointment, so we can import events straight to our laptops etc.
Netsafe Evening for Parents - Wednesday 9 May - 7pm
Some Year 6 students will assist Lee Chisholm from Netsafe with ways of staying safe online. The students will share how they are keeping safe online as they complete homework activities, critique writing etc. This is important for you to attend, as our children participate more and more online.
Money coming to school
Please could you send all monies to school in a clearly marked envelope with name, amount of money and what it is for TO YOUR CHILD'S CLASSROOM TEACHER not directly to the office please. Teachers will note what it is for and pass on to the office. No need to worry if you have more than one child at school. Teachers will pass on the message if you send the total to one teacher.
Mathematics
As a follow-up from our recent Maths night there is now information in the Parent Information section of this web-site.
Also the handout given out on the maths night is now available from the office for a gold coin donation.
Watch this space for further maths events.
Blog any ideas you may have for future events!
See below for link to Mathletics to register as a parent to get weekly progress reports if you wish.

Sorry but I haven't had any other issues with this. I will pass on to Kiwischools though. Give me a ring and we can discuss.
